Basic word order: Subject – Verb – Object
Neutral Spanish sentences usually follow Subject–Verb–Object, similar to English.
In simple sentences you can think: who + does what + to what. Example: Yo tomo café. The subject (yo, tú, él/ella, nosotros, vosotros, ellos/ellas) normally comes first, then the verb, then the object or place. Word order can change for emphasis or in questions, but S–V–O is a safe pattern for beginners.

Memory tip: If you feel lost, put the subject first, then the verb, then the rest: Yo + hago + algo / en algún lugar.
