Basic word order: Subject – Verb – Object
Neutral Italian sentences usually follow Subject–Verb–Object, similar to English.
In simple sentences you can think: who + does what + to what. Example: Io bevo caffè. The subject (io, tu, lui/lei, noi, voi, loro) often appears, but you can drop it because the verb ending already shows the person: Bevo caffè. Italian word order is quite flexible, but S–V–O is a safe pattern.

Memory tip: As a beginner, keep the order: subject + verb + the rest. Start dropping the subject pronoun only when the context is clear.
